Meet Karen Barnes
I want to move brands and people into a more sustainable future by applying the principles of behavior change.
Karen is a seasoned marketing, communications, insight, strategy and behavior change leader with almost twenty years in the business, serving clients as diverse as Boeing, ConAgra Foods, MillerCoors, Johnson & Johnson, Steelcase, Georgia-Pacific, Toshiba, Hanes, General Mills and Lowe’s Home Improvement.
She’s perpetually curious, highly skilled in creating marketing strategies and identifying actionable consumer insights that feed business implications and opportunities to drive profitable growth. Clients value her as a keen interpreter of research, able to find the story in the spreadsheet; a creator of strategic implementation plans that don’t collect dust in a binder; a developer of powerful communications that produce meaningful change and a thought leader with a deep understanding of human behavior.
She’s served clients at some of the nation’s leading consultancies, including Frank About Women and Shelton Group, where she started and led the Insight Department, playing a leading role in research, strategy and creative execution. Her personal passions include hiking, gardening and travel. If she’s not in the office, she’s likely outside with her dog getting her hands dirty.
